11/7 — IDW Games Is Making a Wayward Board Game
IDW Games just announced their upcoming Wayward Board Game – Signature Edition, based on the comic book series from Image Comics and creators Jim Zub and Steven Cummings. The game is being designed by Jonathan Gilmour (Dinosaur Island, Dead of Winter), with artwork from Cummings himself. Wayward is a cooperative experience for 1-5 players that’s being described as a “threat management game” with “multiple unique and challenging scenarios”. In this game, each player becomes a teenager in Tokyo that’s just discovered his or her powers who must fight to prevent “the Weave from unraveling”. With miniatures crafted by Ninja Division, Wayward Board Game – Signature Edition is heading to Kickstarter in February 2019 for $70. Those attending PAX Unplugged will be able to demo the game early at the IDW Games booth.
11/1 – 11/15 — Three Big Fantasy Flight Games Releases Are Now Available
The first half of November was pretty active for Fantasy Flight Games, as the publisher just released three big titles. On Nov. 1, Arkham Horror Third Edition became available for all gamers, and it features a new modular board, scenarios, and more. A week later on Nov. 8, Heroes of Terrinoth became available. This cooperative card game for 1-4 players features twelve playable heroes that players can use to battle deadly monsters and go on epic quests. Lastly, on Nov. 15, KeyForge: Call of the Archons finally released. From designer Richard Garfield (Magic: The Gathering), this deck card game has its players taking on the roles of “Archons”, heroes who endeavor to collect the Æmber required to unlock the Crucible’s hidden Vaults.
11/14 — Can You Become the 7th President of the United States?
Renegade Game Studios announced that, along with Frosted Games, they’re publishing the next Stefan Feld game, Revolution of 1828. A two player game, Revolution of 1828 has its players running the campaigns either presidential candidate, Andrew Jackson or John Quincy Adams. In 1828, this 7th election was the first of its kind to be fought in the newspapers and among the public, leading to what is considered one of the most contentious elections in American history. The goal of the game is to win the presidency by taking Election tiles, and the gameplay even allows players to lead smear campaigns against their opponent. Revolution of 1828 is set to release in April 2019 for $30. For more information, click here.
- Cryptozoic Entertainment announced that one of their latest titles, Rick and Morty: The Rickshank Rickdemption Deck-Building Game, is releasing on Nov. 14 for $40.
- Fantasy Flight Games previewed their upcoming Wave III for Star Wars: X-Wing Second Edition. This wave will focus on ships from the Clone Wars era.
- Z-Man Games revealed even more details about their upcoming Pandemic iteration, Fall of Rome. That game is shaping up to be one of the most unique entries in the hit series.
